Almost everyone has a list of places they have dreamed of visiting one day. I for one, have a list of places I want to visit before I die. To be honest I struggled to make this list because there are so many beautiful countries in the world. If I am to list all the countries that I want to go to, then this blog will be super long. So, I decided to list only the places I want to visit before I turn 50. The list below is in alphabetical order:
Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a land of volcanoes, rainforests, cloud forests and huge waterfalls. It has beaches in the Caribbean Sea & The Pacific Ocean. Costa Rica is considered the most biodiverse in the world because of its many wildlife species.
My itinerary will include:
Hawaii
Who does not want to visit Hawaii before they die? It is probably the only state in the US that made it to this list. Located in the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii has a tropical climate close to that of the Philippines. Apart from the stunning white sand and crystal blue beaches, Hawaii also has iconic craters and tropical rainforests that shelter thousands of unique species.
My itinerary will include:
Iceland
Ever since I signed up on Instagram, I have always followed people who post photos and reels about this country. Cold as it may sound, it is not always icy in Iceland. Like any other European country, it also has a summer season. Its summer is short, but it is enough time to enjoy the scenic views of massive glaciers, hot springs, lava fields & thrilling landscapes with volcanoes. It will cost a little bit more to visit this country during summertime, but I am sure it will be so worth it.
My itinerary will be:
Indonesia
I would be surprised if this country is not on your bucket list. This country is surrounded by crystalline beaches, stunning waterfalls, volcanoes, Komodo dragons and jungles sheltering different wildlife. It also offers world-class diving and breathtaking hiking trails.
My itinerary will include:
Newfoundland
I know what you’re thinking, but nope it is not a breed of dog. Newfoundland is a province located in the eastern part of Canada. It is known for being the settlement of Viking explorer Leif Erikson. It is safe for solo travellers and is one of the best places to live not only in Canada but globally, Forbes.com.
My itineraries will include:
Scotland (Done)
I did not realize how stunning Scotland is until I moved to the UK. This country is just so magnificent. Scotland has a lot to offer for an adventure lover like myself. It is Full of historical castles, beautiful countryside, breathtaking hills, and a dramatic coastline. Another PLUS why this country made it to my list, is that WILD CAMPING is not illegal here. The new ruling of making wild camping illegal in Dartmoor made Scotland the remaining country in the UK that allows people to roam and enjoy sleeping under the stars. You probably already know what my itinerary will be. I will be wild camping from Montrose hike across to Plockton. How did I come up with this route? I have been following www.ukwildcamping.com I am aiming to walk in his footsteps and camp where he camped.
Other itineraries will include:
Switzerland
Every time I mention this country people think I will go there to ski. Switzerland is well known for its skiing resorts, but that is not the reason why I have this country on this list. This would probably be one of the most expensive countries to visit in Europe, but it’s worth every penny.
My itinerary will include:
Tanzania
Located in East Africa, it is known for diverse wildlife, lush forests & white beaches. This country offers a different kind of wildlife experience. It has one of the most iconic safaris in the world. Tanzania is also famous for having the tallest mountain in Africa.
My itinerary will include:
The Caribbean Islands
There are 28 countries in the Caribbean, these countries are known for stunning beaches, lively reggae music, colourful festivals, reefs & rainforests. I will visit all of them, however, there are a few islands that I would like to prioritize for this list.
My itinerary will include:
The Maldives (Done)
This country has been on my bucket list for a long. In December 2022 I visited this country and spent my Christmas holiday here all by myself. It is best known for having turquoise blue water, soft white sandy beaches, and luxurious overwater villas.
My itinerary includes:
Explore Maldives Shipwrecks
The Philippines
Asia’s Pearl of the Orient. My motherland! It is one of the most exotic countries for tourist destinations in the Southeast Asian region. The Philippine archipelago consists of around 7,640 islands. It is surrounded by many astonishing beaches, tropical forests, volcanoes, and diving spots. It is sad to say as a citizen of this country I am not able to see its beauty. It was very unfortunate that I must work in another country for me to afford to travel around my homeland.
Most tourists will opt to go to popular places like Boracay, although I want to go to Boracay someday, it is not at the top of my list. Here are the top places I will visit in the Philippines.
My itinerary will include:
Is your favourite place on my list? Some or maybe all the places listed here are also on your list. Probably the difference amongst bucket lists is the reason why we want to go there in the first place. It does not matter what your reason is, what matter most is that you pursue your dream. Like I always say, we only live once, so LIVE YOUR LIFE AND YOU LIVE IT NOW! Follow your dreams so travel and live.
